Main Responsibilities as a Principal Safety Engineer
- Conducting safety analysis activities such as Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs)
- Developing safety requirements for the system to ensure alignment with the customer’s safety objectives
- Collaborating within cross-functional teams to uphold NG’s reputation by delivering high-quality, well-justified outputs
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering and communicating Systems Safety within the UK Defence sector, with a degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in Systems Safety Engineering.
- Strong experience with EC 61508 and Def Stan 00-056.
- Hands-on experience with safety/reliability analysis methods, including hazard identification, FMECA, FTA, and Functional Failure Analysis.
